Advantages of More Women in STEM

• Women in STEM earn 33% more than women in other fields (US Dept of Commerce)

• Women can provide a new outlook

  • The original airbag was created by a group of male engineers, and thus it was created to protect the average male body. The smaller stature of women and children's bodies was not considered, leading to the death of many women and children caused by deploying airbags. 

  • The first few voice recognition softwares were created using solely male voices, as the creators were all male. The devices would not recognize women's voices, making them inadequate for use.
